My cat is so cute! She is also somewhat blind. The vet says there is a problem with her rods and cones. Whatever it is, it is quite amusing to watch sometimes. If you hold your hand above her, she'll look at it, but it looks like she's looking at the light around it more than at your actual hand. That's how she looks up at people as well: at the light around you, not at YOU.
When I am holding her, and she wants down, I try to bring her close to the ground before I let her go, but sometimes she leaps from my grasp, ending up flying headfirst into a wall, or the stove, or whatever is in her path. I try to keep the brain damage down to a minimum, but there's only so much I can do...
Whenever I am in the shower, she'll come and put her paws up on the edge up the tub, like she's trying to find out what the hell the crazy human is doing in that weird cubicle. It's as if she's debating climbing into the tub. Me and Matt were in the shower the other day, and she started to peer over the edge of the tub. So we picked her up and put her in the tub. She stood there for a minute, walked in a circle, and then when the water sprayed lightly on her, she started to kind of realize that she was getting wet. Out she went! Any other cat would go as far away as possible from the water, but she started to peer over the edge again! So we brought her in again, getting more water on her this time. She didn't screech and flail madly with her claws, like I half expected. She made a worried meowy noise, and then went for retreat. As she is pacing madly outside the tub, she's making a weird meowing noise that I've never heard her make before, like she was concerned that we were okay. I got out, and she pranced after me into my room, all the while inquiring with that meow. I don't know what she was thinking, or why she was meowing like that. She is a mystery!! And that's why I love her.

There is a new girl at my work, she is Chinese, she speaks pretty good English, but does the dumbest things!! I initially thought that it was just a language barrier, and thought that my co-worker was being a little mean by saying that she was just dumb and playing off the language difference.... But NO! I think that is right! She has had things explained to her numerous times, using visual aids, using different adjectives, anything you can think of (other than a translator), and she still doesn't understand! Then, when she has to go redo a credit card slip because it is almost the complete opposite of what is supposed to be done, she gets all pissed off. Well, maybe she will remember now how to do it properly!!
Sigh.... so many people in the world who just don't understand....
